KVM supplies turnkey plant for manufacturing concrete products. When a major client in Florida requested an automated solution to place special products on pallets, Sales Manager Knud Jensen called Manomatic.
Sales Manager Knud Jensen, KVM:
“Our client in Florida had to produce special products and pack them automatically. Our conventional machinery could not lift these elements. I contacted Manomatic because they offer FANUC robots and customer-specific solutions. The project ran over a period of six months. We worked well together from start to finish. It turns out we are a very good match. Above all: Our client in the US is very satisfied with the results.”
For this project, Manomatic designed three special grabs so that the robot can grab and lift many different concrete elements from position A and deposit them at positions B, C, D – or move them around – and find them again.
“It is true to say that we have exploited the robot technology to the full. We made use of Manomatic’s robot programming expertise and their innovative grab designs.”
Escalating demand for automation
Knud Jensen explains that the demand for automation among his customers is growing. One reason for their growing interest in automation is that it ensures uniformity. Another is that companies cannot find people willing to perform repetitive manual work.
Today, KVM and Manomatic’s robot palletising system operates on the line in Florida, moving tiles and paving stones of all shapes and sizes for twenty hours each day. This project effectively gave KVM a new string to its bow, a new solution that helps to future-proof the company’s portfolio of services.
“Our working with Manomatic means that we have a new solution to offer our customers. This means a lot to us because we see an increasing demand for automation. Things are definitely moving in that direction.”
