Robots that polish composite worktops
A specific example: Nicholaisen and Manomatic worked together on a project, which involved planning and delivering robot cells to a kitchen manufacturer, who produces work surfaces in a composite material called Corian®. In a conventional set-up, Corian® worktops are polished manually. It is an onerous and time-consuming process. Now robots are doing all the hard work.

Robots that bring order into chaos
Another project that Nicholaisen and Manomatic worked on together, involved developing a complex robot cell that optimises processes, logistics and warehouse management at a subsupplier to the kitchen manufacturing industry.

“This company had many manual processes and found it difficult to manage order-based logistics. We devised a robot cell that takes care of the logistics, warehousing and several manufacturing processes. The robot knows where to find the elements. The robot cell locates component parts, glues them, and lays them up on shelving until they are needed in connection with a new process or assembly – and the robot knows when. Manomatic gave us a new string to our bow

KVM supplies turnkey plant for manufacturing concrete products. When a major client in Florida requested an automated solution to place special products on pallets, Sales Manager Knud Jensen called Manomatic.

For this project, Manomatic designed three special grabs so that the robot can grab and lift many different concrete elements from position A and deposit them at positions B, C, D – or move them around – and find them again.

Knud Jensen explains that the demand for automation among his customers is growing. One reason for their growing interest in automation is that it ensures uniformity. Another is that companies cannot find people willing to perform repetitive manual work.

Today, KVM and Manomatic’s robot palletising system operates on the line in Florida, moving tiles and paving stones of all shapes and sizes for twenty hours each day. This project effectively gave KVM a new string to its bow, a new solution that helps to future-proof the company’s portfolio of services.
